Rock N’ Roll ShapeShifters, Ill Fated Natives: “Living Water” and “NOBODY MOVE!”

The Ill Fated Natives make Rock N’ muthafuckin’ Roll and bend and twist it to their whim with hip-hop, R&B, pop-punk, and other influenced grips.

They jump through rock subgenres in a hard-nosed fashion. In the process, bringing forth a new sound to the Philadelphia alt rock scene.

“Living Water” is a tasty sample of their stuff but certainly not an exemplar for the rest of their music. You need to check that out yourself.

“NOBODY MOVE!” shows off their subgenre hopping ability, mixing hip-hop and garage-rasta. I don’t think garage-rasta is a declared genre, but it could be. You’ll get it when you listen to the song.

A MUST SEE LIVE BAND

Last but not least, it’s important to note, that their live shows are downright SPECIAL. These dudes bring it, whether they’re playing a packed house or to a closet full of kidnapped people. I had the pleasure of catching them a few times but my first experience was at La Colombe’s Hope & Fury Concert Series in 2018 or 2019, and they blew the lid off the place. Jumping on tables, yelling into the mic, I thought a mini mosh was ready to break out in the flagship coffee shop.
