Think School of Rock but instead of a band, we’re making a movie.
This Summer we’re partnered with UPenn’s Netter Center to document West Philly — the good, the bad, and the education.
We’re doing so with a student-led film crew.
Very excited to see what this program has in store for us. We’ve got an incredible staff, talented students, and a proper vision.

Driving attention in the right direction and the more attention we can bring to all the awesome and important our city has to offer, the better.

A Charitable Backbone
One of the goals of The City Root is to donate 5-10% of all profits to deserving causes. Using THON-style fundraising efforts, funds would be raised over an extended period of time, buoyed by events, and capped by a concert.
