Phight Club — Upcoming Fights & Recent Results

The Philadelphia fight scene once again broadcasted to the world that it’s a combat sport mecca.

With big wins in the UFC, CFFC, on the regional fight scene, the Philly / South Jersey area continues to produce impressive talent and recruit bad motherfuckers with octagon dreams from all over. Uzbekistan, especially.

Let’s get into it.

First, we gotta talk about Kyle “The D’Arce Knight” Daukaus and his return to the UFC after a string of CFFC title belt defenses. After a successful UFC run (and a few questionable decisions), Daukaus was dropped from a busy and talented middleweight roster. He didn’t pout or complain, he jumped in the CFFC and grabbed the belt in no time. In his return, he was put to the test immediately by the company with a fight against Michel Pereira yeah, that guy.

The result?

A first round KO.

On the regional grind, the Marquez / Webb / Taino team put on a clinic the other weekend with several fighters taking home wins via some of their most impressive up-and-comers including: Jose Soto, Christian Bobe, Jeremiah Delgado, and CJ LaFragola. While all of the wins came through in impressive fashion, it’s Soto who looks to be closing in on a promotion to the big leagues. Don’t be surprised if he’s fighting for a CFFC belt in no time.

Nursulton Ruziboev, the Uzbek transplant who’s headlined a Fight Night and tends to finish his opponents early was left off the Aug. 16th UFC card because his opponent, Bryan Battle, missed weight and was cut from the roster shortly after. So he’ll certainly be looking for another matchup soon.

UP NEXT

In the next two weekends, three Team Taino standouts, Cam Scalio, Kenyel Torres, and Aiden Rhea will be competing. After a string of wins and tough fights in CFFC, Scalio will make his pro debut as part of the ROC promotion in Atlantic City. Torres and Rhea, still fighting on the amateur circuit will be competing at 2300 Arena this weekend in South Philly.

Short notice King, friend of the program, Andre “Anacondre” Petroski, takes his talents down under to face new UFC signee, Cam Rowston, in his home country. Andre trains out of South Jersey and Philadelphia as part of the Marquez / Webb / Taino superteam. He’s coming off a loss after going on a three-fight win streak. He’s also one of the few fighters in the UFC who continues to sharpen his skills with each battle. Petroski looks to put it all together against a tough opponent who wants nothing more to notch a staple UFC debut win in front of his home crowd.

Here’s a whole article on Boots!

A world champ, born and raised right here in Philly, trained by his Father. He once again takes over the Wells Fargo—errr… Xfinity Mobile Arena to put on for his city and take another step towards an undisputed welterweight title.

UFC 320 — October 4th — Las Vegas

Joe “Bodybagz” Pyfer will face his toughest challenge to date against the ranked, Abus Magomedov. While Magomedov represents Germany, the last name suggests Dagastan. The last fight before the co-main, then the main event.

Johnny “Cannoli” Garbarino is on one hell of a Bare Knuckle Fighting Streak and could be fighting for the Middleweight belt if he takes home another win in Newark on October 4th.

Patrick “The Brick” Brady returns to action after a show-stopping performance at BKFC mania in Philadelphia in January. He’s once again fighting close to home and, as always, you can expect fireworks. Brady comes to swing.
